Historical Costume Analysis

For this project, I was asked to analyze a movie, whether historical fiction or non-fiction, to determine if the costumes were historically accurate. To do this, I compared my knowledge of authentic costume to the items that the costume designers used in the film.  I chose to analyze Jane Eyre (2011). Overall, the costumers did an excellent job of remaining true to the period and place (1830s to 1840s in England). They were meticulous to research fashion trends of the time and incorporate them into their costumes.
